EP Review: The Green River Project

The Green River Project’s self-titled, 7 track EP wastes no time letting you know who’s in charge. Reminiscent of 80’s metal - the gutsy cock thrusting kind not the hairspray and platforms variety. Heavily guitar influenced, Mick Priestley’s frenzied, accurate shredding is combined with Andy Law’s aggressive vocals and hard thrashing drummer, Alex Martin. Between them they cook up a tempestuous storm, ready to rain heavy metal on all our heads.

To further demonstrate that these guys have minds of metal, they’ve collaborated with Adrian Erlandsson (Ex Cradle Of Filth drummer) on ‘Dig Your Grave’ and ‘Nowhere To Run’ and also ZP Theart (Ex Dragonforce vocalist) on ‘Out Of The Dark Below’. For me, the stand out track on the EP is ‘The Storm’ as it has acoustic segments that demonstrate variety and act as the calm before… all manner of bedlam and chaos lets loose!
This fast paced, ferocious metal is perfect for restoring your energy and reawakening your ears.
